Pastor: Father George Blasick, C.ss.R.

Born in Lancaster, PA in September of 1965, his hometown became Mount Joy, PA, a suburb about 10 west of Lancaster.  In 1983, he graduated from Donegal High School, and that autumn entered the Redemptorist Seminary (now defunct) in Suffield, CT.

After being in the seminary system for nearly 7 years, he left and returned to PA, where he obtained a degree in accounting at Millersville University.  After another 5 years he returned to the seminary in 1996.

In 1998, while in temporary vows, he began active ministry at Saint Gerard’s in Lima, Ohio.  Two years later he was sent to Puerto Rico to study Spanish for approximately eight months, and he served as a deacon.  May 5th, 2001, he was ordained a priest in the crypt church of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Originally Fr. George was told that he’d be reassigned to Brooklyn, NY, but the shifting of personnel meant that he was needed back in Ohio.  Serving there from May 2001 to September 2008.  At that time he was transferred to Saint Mary’s in Annapolis, MD, only to be reassigned here, to Our Lady of Lourdes nearly 14 months later (with Father Hurley’s passing).

Fr. George has been here since (with the exception of a short, temporary assignment back in Ohio, due to a staff shortage).

He is looking forward to his new assignment as Pastor and welcomes your support and prayers.
