There are currently nine elected and two appointed members on the Council plus six Ex-Officio members: the Pastor, Associate Pastor, the two Deacons, the Director of Religious Education and the Office Manager. The members and their terms of office plus bio-sketches of the elected and/or appointed members are shown below.
The role of the Parish Council is to assist the pastor in identifying pastoral needs within the parish, and help him plan pastoral programs, improve pastoral services, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and services.
The Council meets the third Monday of every month from 7 to 8 PM in the church basement (CCD classroom) but most of its work will be done outside the meeting. In the summer months they meet to orient new members and also to conduct strategic planning for the upcoming year.

Parish Council (Elected / Appointed) Member Bios:
Claudia Alcantara (2018 – 2019) moved to Bridgeville from her home country, Mexico, 23 years ago. She has been a member of the Parish since then. She lives in Bridgeville with her family. Claudia is a Eucharistic Minister, Lead Lector, and the Treasurer of our John XXIII Group. She represents the Parish in the Diocese Hispanic Ministry and is a member of Our Lady of Tears Rosary Maker Hispanic Group and the Parish Hall Committee. She received her BS in Accounting from Wilmington University in 2008.
Ron Bisson (2018 - 2021) Ron has been a member of our parish for over 20 years and is known (mostly) for his work in Music Ministry (especially with the youth) as an instrumentalist/guitarist, and cantor at Masses. He has been involved in Catholic Ministries for most of my life since being confirmed (which includes most of my 31 years in the U.S. Air Force), and has also served as: Lector, Usher/Greeter, Pre-Cana Sponsor Couple (with his wife Brenda) and Religious Education Teacher. He has been involved in Music Ministry since 1974. Each summer he brings his music ministry to our Vacation Bible School.
Tonie Holodick (2017 – 2020) moved to Delaware from Michigan in 1985 when she married her husband Gary who has been a member of our parish since birth. She worked at Mountaire in Millsboro for 17 years where she was the executive assistant to the plant engineer and was responsible for numerous state and federal reports and maintaining books for the company. She is an adult altar server and a lector and participates in the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She was on the Parish Barbeque Committee in 2016. She makes and sells rosaries with the profits going to various church ministries.
Felicitas Gontang (2018 – 2021) lives in Seaford and has been a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes for over 30 years. Tita is a Eucharistic Minister, taking the Eucharist to the sick at the hospital and also serving during the Liturgy. She is a devoted mother and grandmother. She joined the Council in 2015 and was elected Executive Officer in 2017. She served on the Nominating Committee for the past two years.
Joe Lynch (2017 – 2020) Joe is a lifelong member of the Parish where, as a boy, he served on the altar and attended C.C.D. His activities over the years include twice chairing the Christmas Bazaar, working on the church bar-b-ques, and even had a previous term on the Parish Council. As a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus he has been our Parish's Grand Knight and a State Officer. He was on the committee that organized the Lenten Fish dinners which funds an annual scholarship to a high school senior in the Parish each year. Joe was an active member of the Parish’s BBQ Committee in 2016. He is a Eucharistic Minister of the Liturgy and serves as an adult altar server.
Gordon Ramey (2018 – 2021) Gordon was born and raised in Sussex County. He has had a full life after graduating from Seaford HS; served in the Army and was stationed in Vietnam; was a DE State Police Officer (member of Special Weapons Team); a plumber and real estate broker. He eventually returned to college and became a Respiratory Therapist at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Gordon and his wife live on their family farm in Bridgeville; their two sons and daughter also live on the farm. Gordon is a new member of our faith community, having completed RCIA several years ago, and is an active member of the parish, serving as a lector and now a member of the parish council.
Barbara Reed (2016 – 2019) joined Our Lady of Lourdes in 2010 when she moved to Heritage Shores. She has 6 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Starting as a money counter, she was then recertified as a Eucharistic Minister and joined Our Lady of Lourdes Pastoral Care team. She was elected to the Parish Council in 2013 and re-elected in 2016; she served as Secretary in 2015 and was re-elected for a second term for 2016.
Jessica Selba (2017 – 2020) is a mother of four amazing sons, a teacher, a catechist, a servant and “a sinner”. Outside of church, she is currently a special education teacher, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity as an advocate (recently speaking as a panel member in DC at a Catholic University.) She was a participant in Women's Build in Denton in May 6, 2017. She participates with the Youth Ministry and has helped out with St. Vincent de Paul and she teaches CCD.
Fred Silva (2018 - 2019) graduated from Western Michigan University (B.A.) and Brown University (M.A.). He served four years in the US Air Force and 25 years with the U.S. Foreign Service. Upon retiring from the Foreign Service, he taught Spanish and then worked in business and manufacturing. He and his wife, Annette, live in Seaford. Fred was elected to the Parish Council in 2014. Hobbies: studying history, political theory and theology. He is an avid woodworker and gardener. He was appointed to the Parish Council in 2017 to continue as a liaison to the Master Planning Committee.
Anthony Terracciano (2016 – 2019) hailed from Queens, NY and lived in New Jersey where he and his wife were parishioners at St. Luke's parish. He has a BBA in Accounting from Pace University and spent his career at JPMorgan Chase and AIG in their respective Controller Departments. He and his wife of over 40 years, Joanne, are both retired and moved to Bridgeville in June 2014 and joined Our Lady of Lourdes parish. He is a Eucharistic Minister for the Pastoral Care Ministry and the Liturgy, a Lector and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Joe Woodhead (2018 – 2021) has been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes since 1969 and joined the Parish Council in 2015. He was a member two previous times. He has been a lector for 26 years and Eucharistic Minister for 18. He is a retired Veterinarian and has been married to his wife, Reb, for 58 years. They live in Seaford; they have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Matthew Zoller (2016 – 2019) has been attending Our Lady of Lourdes since birth and very early on became active with the Youth Ministry, working at the Lenten fish fries, serving on the altar and most currently playing guitar for Mass. He helps teach first grade CCD class and assists during youth masses. He is currently a student at Wilmington University, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business management. He also works for the University of Delaware as a field researcher, studying chemical processes of eliminating weeds from fields of crops.
